Let’s talk about something I see all the time.

When things get tight, uncertain, or overwhelming in business… The first thing many people do is cut their marketing budget. It feels like the easiest place to save.
Marketing can seem like an extra. A “nice to have.”

But it’s not.

Marketing is how people find you. It’s how they remember you. It's how they know you. It’s how they connect with your story, and decide they want to support what you do, buy what you create, share what you make.

When times are tough, visibility becomes more important than ever. You don’t want to hide quiet. You want to stay front-of-mind. You want to remind your audience why they chose you in the first place; and why they still should.

Cutting your marketing is like closing your shop’s front door when fewer people are walking by. You might save a little in the short term, but you miss out on the people who were still coming in.

Here’s the good news: marketing doesn’t have to be expensive. It doesn’t have to be loud or complicated. It just has to be intentional.

Show up with heart. Share the behind-the-scenes. Tell your story. Remind people of the love, care, and creativity that goes into what you offer. Stay present, even if it’s imperfect. Especially if it’s imperfect.

Put yourself in new places.  Find a new audience.  Discover a new path or opportunity.

Because what you’re building deserves to be seen, even (and especially) in hard seasons.
You never know who needs your product, your service, or what you create today.

So if you're feeling the pull to disappear or go quiet, this is your reminder: You don’t need to do everything. You just need to keep showing up.

Stay visible. Stay connected. Stay rooted in why you started. Because even in the slow seasons, your presence matters.
